| Requirements and Responsibilities For Project Management Director |
| Directs enterprise project management activities and governance programs to support execution of strategic business initiatives and operational objectives. Develops project management standards, policies, methodologies, and reporting frameworks to ensure consistency and accountability across projects and programs. Oversees project portfolios, resource allocation, budgeting, risk management, and performance measurement activities to optimize organizational effectiveness. Collaborates with senior leadership and department heads to prioritize projects and align initiatives with business goals and corporate strategy. Evaluates project outcomes, identifies operational improvements, and drives implementation of best practices in project execution and governance. Leads organizational change management, staff development, and vendor management activities related to project operations. Requires a bachelor's degree. May require Project Management Certification. Typically reports to senior management. Manages a departmental sub-function within a broader departmental function. Creates functional strategies and specific objectives for the sub-function and develops budgets/policies/procedures to support the functional infrastructure. Typically requires 5+ years of managerial experience. Deep knowledge of the managed sub-function and solid knowledge of the overall departmental function. |
